Panthers moves up to No. 1 in the NCAA Midwest Region Rankings

Kentucky Wesleyan moved up to No. 1 in the second weekly Division II Midwest Region men's basketball rankings as announced by the NCAA. The Panthers were No. 2 in the first ranking last Wednesday.
Following KWC were No. 2 Grand Valley State, No. 3 Drury, No. 4 Quincy, No. 5 Findlay, No. 6 Central State, No. 7, Rockhurst, No. 8 Saint Joseph's, No. 9 Lake Superior State and No. 10 Bellarmine.
The last time KWC earned the No. 1 spot in the region was Feb. 26, 2003.
The Panthers (21-3, 10-2), currently in second place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division, will host new GLVC member Maryville on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. CT; and then Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. CT.
The NCAA will announce the 64-team field (eight per region) on March 7. The eight regionals will be held March 13, 14 and 16 at campus sites. The Elite Eight will be played at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass., on March 24, 25 and 27.
