Lindsay Wahler, who helped lead Apollo High School to 8th District and 3rd Region championships in volleyball as a senior in 2009, signed with Kentucky Wesleyan College on Wednesday at Apollo.
"It means a lot to me to continue both my volleyball career and my academic career at KWC," Wahler said. "I plan on going into elementary education, and they've got a great program at KWC.
"I'm not sure where they'll play me over there. I've moved around a lot during my career, and I just hope they put me wherever I'm needed. I really don't care what position I play -- I just want to play."
Wahler set several program records for the E-Gals, finishing with 101 aces last fall and 172 for her career. Wahler, who started the 2009 season at Libero, also set three records for digs: Most in a match (17), season (273) and career (382).
As a junior, Wahler received Apollo's Coach's Award, and in 2009 she was selected as the team's Most Valuable Player, also making the All-Region team.
Wahler was instrumental in Apollo posting a 31-11 record in 2009.
