Volleyball signs Jordan Rickert

Jordan Rickert, a 5-foot-8, setter from Holy Cross High School in Louisville, Ky., signed a national letter-of-intent to continue her education and volleyball career at Kentucky Wesleyan College, according to Panther head coach Craig Brown.

Rickert finished second in the state in assists with a school record 962 for an 9.7 average in 99 games played as she led the Cougars and head coach Matt Tomerson to a 30-12 record and a Sixth Region runner-up finish. Her assists also rank her 60th in the nation.

"Jordan has played at a high level for several years and is ready to contribute now," said Brown. "She is skilled in many aspects of the game and very well make an impact in several areas."

The two-year starter and four-year letterwinner also accumulated 68 kills, 41 service aces, 22 total blocks, 185 digs as a senior. She received honorable mention all-state recognition and the team's Most Valuable Player Award in 2009 plus all-region honors as a junior and senior.

Rickert also was tabbed last October as MaxPrep.com Player of the Week and Vype Magazine Community Athlete of the Month. In the classroom, she earned first-team academic all-state four straight years.

She is the daughter of Brian and Sharon Rickert.
