Former Western Kentucky University standout to lead prograam

Scott Ray, a former all-conference performer at Western Kentucky University, has been chosen as head men's golf coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College, as announced by Director of Athletics Gary Gallup.
   
"Scott brings a lot of excitement to our program," said Gallup. "His passion for the game and his success as a player at Western Kentucky are a great fit for our program and team goals."
   
Ray played three seasons for the Hilltoppers (1980-83) were he was named All-Ohio Valley Conference in 1981. He along with teammate and PGA pro Kenny Perry helped WKU to three OVC Tournament runner-up finishes for former head coach Jim Richards.
   
Prior to WKU, Ray played his freshman season at the University of Alabama.
   
The native of Central City, Ky., graduated from WKU with a bachelor of science degree in 1983.
