Eric Hagan named assistant women's volleyball coach

Eric Hagan has been named assistant volleyball coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College, according to Panther head coach Craig Brown.

Hagen comes to KWC with eight years coaching experience. He most recently spent two seasons as an assistant at his alma mater Owensboro Catholic High School following four years at Daviess County High School and two seasons at Brescia University.

"Eric is the right fit for our program with his expertise and passion for volleyball," said Brown. "I have had the opportunity to coach with him for five years at the club level. He has made me a better coach with his ideas and advise. I could not have found a better choice for our program."

He currently serves as Director of the Audubon Volleyball Association (AVA), a USA Junior Club for girls from western Kentucky, southern Indiana and southern Illinois, a position he has held for five years. In 2008, he along with KWC's head coach Craig Brown co-coached a team that went on to the Nationals in Dallas.

"This is a wonderful opportunity at this time in my coaching career to reunite with Craig," said Hagan. "Both of us are passionate about building the program into something very special. KWC has a great future with our student-athletes. The season cannot start soon enough for us."

Hagan holds memberships in USA Volleyball as a coach and player, plus the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). He also has coaching certificates from USA Volleyball's IMPACT Program and the Coaching Accreditation Program Level I (CAP). His playing experience includes over 19 years on the court.
