115 student-athletes begin preseason

Kentucky Wesleyan College's 115-member football squad reports to campus on Aug. 13 as they begin preparation for the Panthers 2010 season.
Eighth-year head coach Brent Holsclaw returns 39 letterwinners including 17 starters (nine offense; seven defense; one punter) and 14 squadmen from last season's 2-9 squad. He also welcomes 62 newcomers to the team.
The student-athletes will be issued equipment and participate in acclimation/orientation sessions for the first five days. The first day for full-contact practice will be Tuesday, Aug. 17. Classes begin on Monday, Aug. 30.
The Panthers will open their 11-game schedule at home against Indianapolis on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. CT.
