The Panthers captured their Great Lakes Valley Conference opener by pounding Missouri-St. Louis at the plate with a win 10-4.
Nathan Hedgepath,
Luis Mila and
Jon Wandling led the 10-hit parade with three each while
Sean Embry and
Jordan White chipped in two a-piece. Hedgepath also recorded two RBIs.
KWC posted five runs in the fourth for a 5-0 lead and again in the sixth for the final outcome.
Tim Steed earned the win with five and 2/3 innings pitched and
Tyler Emberton captured the save with three strikeouts in the final three and 1/3.
The second contest saw the Tritons jump out to a 4-0 lead before the Panthers roared back with five straight runs over the second and third innings to grab their second GLVC win 5-4.
Jordan Harbison and Wandling each had a double as four different Panthers produced RBIs.
Tyler Edge recorded four strikeouts to earn the win and
Colton Slank picked up the save.
The Panthers (6-6, 2-0 GLVC) host Maryville (Mo.) on Sunday at noon.
