WILMORE, KY - Taking part in their last meet before conference, the Kentucky Wesleyan cross country teams showed out, as the women put four runners in the top ten en-route to a second place finish.
Finishing second on the very tough course was Wesleyan's own
Abigail Lesniak, who came through with a 5k time of 20:16.
Emery Crume continued her strong season by finishing fourth with a time of 20:52. Competing in her first race of the semester,
Kate Keller ran well, finishing in eighth with a 21:56. Coming in just one place behind her was
Abby Greene, who ran a time of 22:07.
Lucy Knutson came in just outside the top ten in 11th, clocking a time of 22:26.
Jaiden Davis ran a time of 22:50 (15th) and
Raffa Gano finished in 27:20 (33rd).
As a team the women placed second, just one point behind the host Asbury.
On the men's side,
James Loi came finished in the top ten (9th) with an 8k time of 29:45.
Hayden McDermott clocked a time of 32:16 (21st) and
Zachary Hardin finished in 33:23 (27th).
"You cannot have sport without adversity," said head coach
Sol Stephens. "Sports will define and reveal your character through the adversity you face within them. You can't take big steps without taking baby steps, and with that the best is yet to come."
Wesleyan will compete again in two weeks when they head to Findlay, Ohio, for the G-MAC Championships.
